I swear every time some analyst from CNBC opens their mouth, the most unbelievable, nonsensical bullshit comes out. Its so bad I’m beginning to think that CNBC stands for Can Not Build Credibility. If you think back to the beginning of July, you’ll remember that Jim Cramer blew his own trumpet and said that he had rightly predicted the housing slump was over. A few months before, Cramer said the housing slump would end in June. Now, I know I’m no financial wizard, but even I know that before you claim your predictions are true, you wait for a few months to make sure its not just a fluke. So what happened? Home sales were back down in July. You’ll also remember that good ole Cramer was the one that said Lenny Dykstra was a financial genius. That turned out to be a lovely proclamation. But enough about Cramer, let’s talk about Maria Bartiromo and her idiocy on Morning Joe last week. Matt Taibbi from Rolling Stone was on and he was talking about his article about why in order for Health Care Reform to mean anything, a public option is necessary. Well, Bartiromo decided to jump into the conversation.

I hear the argument that Bartiromo made all the time from people trying to talk bad about the Public Option. “The U.S. has the best facilities, best doctors and best medicine. There’s nothing wrong with our Health Care System.” This is such a non sequitur. Just because we have the best doctors, facilities and medicine doesn’t mean the system itself is good. As Taibbi points out, what’s the point of having the best medicine if its not available to everyone. Bartiromo mentioned some cancer medicine that those in UK can’t get and immediately I thought “The same thing happens here.” This is what pisses me off the most about those that argue against “government run health care.” The alternative is “insurance company run health care.” Just about everything in the government plan is in some shape or form in current private insurance policies. All this “reform” is really doing is giving people yet another OPTION to choose from. If you think the government plan is so bad then guess what? You don’t have to use it.* But I guarantee you those without insurance will love it because its better than nothing. *I just want to say that I went over to the Hip Hop Republicans website and they had some 20 year old trying to explain parts of the bill. Well, this is a clear reason why you don’t have a 20 year old try to tackle a bill. He pointed out a section on page 16 that states that new enrollees into private insurance companies won’t be allowed after 2013. The problem is, he didn’t read the whole bill. Later on in the Bill it clearly states that those who wish to opt-out can participate in a Health Insurance EXCHANGE. The bill actually extensively lists out the criteria for the exchange. Silly things like ensuring it’s affordable and that it can’t drop people with pre-existing conditions. It really stems me when I see someone read something with such horrible comprehension skills.
