This is getting old. Really really old. I’m tired of the Christian Right purposely misleading people for political reasons. Mike Huckabee and Tim Lahaye are playing with fire here and it’s a fire that could engulf this country in idiocy. It’s also typical Fox News garbage, pushed off as “an
important discussion.” Huckabee leads off with a loaded question that implies President Obama is leading us down the wrong moral path. Lahaye obliges by basically agreeing and somehow linking socialism to it. All he’s really doing is spewing Right Wing Talking Points though. “Government takeover”, “More government control”, etc. Funny thing is, fools like Huckabee and Lahaye don’t even bother to justify their hypocrisy, they just choose to ignore it. They pretend that they we’re cheerleaders for the Bush Administration’s Patriot Act or warrantless wiretapping, both of which gave the government the ability to infringe upon our civil liberties. Nope, see that kind of government control is okay. But Health Care Reform? That’s leading us straight to the end of days. And I’m not making that up. Huckabee asks if the end of days is upon us and Lahaye says Obama is leading us to the Apocalypse.
I think I would find this funny if not for the fact that some people out there actually wholeheartedly agree. And for that, this raises the FacePalm meter to a 10. Because these fucks actually have a following and are actually influencing the direction this country is headed.

I’d like to think that they are correct, that these could actually be the end days. The end days for THEM! That Obama and congress could some how pull the plug on the kind of widespread broadcasting of lies and deception that defines Fox News. Ah, to picture the Huckster and all of the “Jesus will devour the entrails of pinko liberals” crowd comfortably retired, coated with sunscreen, sucking down tropical beverages named with biblical connotations (the Tequila Sonrise) on some oil soaked beach in the Caribbean, and OUT OF THE PUBLIC EYE FOR GOOD. Hey, I can dream can’t I?
