I think democrats like losing. I think they are most comfortable watching Republicans have power and complaining about it than actually holding the reins themselves and taking control. Ed Rendell isn’t the first Democrat to suggest that President Obama could face a primary challenger in 2012. Keith Olbermann did the same thing. Are these people nuts? George W. Bush ran this country into the ground and Republicans didn’t even THINK bad thoughts about him until after the 2006 midterm elections when it didn’t matter any more. Now I’m not saying Democrats need to blindly follow behind the President and never question him, but it’s amazing watching liberals and other democrats bash the President day in and day out, then wonder why his poll numbers are sliding.
I remember during the Health Care Reform debate, Ed Schultz would bash the President every day for the Health Care Reform bill. He would go as far as calling the President “in the pockets of insurance companies.” Mind you, insurance companies weren’t happy with the bill. Ed bashed the President and the bill…for months. Then when the bill finally got voted on and passed, Ed couldn’t understand why the bill and the President polled so low. Could that possibly be because you spent more time bashing the President and the bill (and were more effective with it) than Republicans? I mean really, are democrats this stupid?
