What Was Wrong with Miss California’s Answer?

miss_california_2009I’m trying to figure out what was so wrong with Miss California’s response at the Miss America pageants.  I’m not a huge fan of this contest because quite honestly, I’ve seen finer women on my Facebook/Twitter friends list.  But I always hold out hope that there will be another Miss South Carolina with her EPIC FAIL of an answer…and such as.  I thought by reading the news headlines that just maybe I had come across such comedic gold but alas, I’ve been duped.  Okay, Miss California gave her opinion and while it wasn’t the most articulate and fluid response, she at least stuck to her beliefs.  She believes that marriage is between a man and a woman but she also said she thinks its great that people can choose between the two.  If people weren’t so busy getting offended over nothing, they would remember that our dear President himself has said that marriage is between a man and a woman.  Hell, I support gay marriage and my personal opinion is that marriage is between a man and a woman.  But that’s MY OPINION.  If you believe otherwise I believe you should be able to marry who you want.  But don’t get pissed off because I didn’t tell you what you wanted to hear.  My opposition to Proposition 8 was not because of religious or personal beliefs but because Civil Rights aren’t valid ballet questions.  That and the fact that I truly believe that what someone else does in their private life really is none of my business.  Supporters of Proposition 8 really got a shallow victory.  Gays are still gay, they still have sex with each other and live their lives.  Proposition 8 didn’t make gay people go “Well guys, the gig is up…looks like we gotta go straight now.”  That said, I can appreciate someone like Miss California who didn’t hide her true feelings and spoke what she believed in.  Of course she’s going overboard now with the Fox News interviews talking about how it was “God testing her” and claiming she didn’t win because of “speaking her mind” (no bitch, I saw the scores, that wasn’t what cost you the crown).  I guess she has to stretch her 15 minutes of fame out. So no, this wasn’t a huge deal or anything and people really need to stop bitching about every little thing that pops up.

And lastly, what the hell is a gay man doing asking questions to women in a pageant?  Perez Hilton doesn’t like pussy, he shouldn’t be judging it.

I was going to give her a B+ for speaking her mind and a pat on the back for not being part of the pussification of America by holding back until she started going around trying to blame everything except for the fact that there were hotter and more well-rounded girls up there on stage. You didn’t win because you weren’t the best; hands down, that’s it!

What’s she so worried about anyways, she’ll probably just end up marrying some rich dude, won’t ever have to work, but then will probably complain about all those people who (her future words, not mine) sit on their asses and collect welfare checks.
